Role Description:
The Senior Manager, Pumping Operations is responsible for managing the activities of the Pumping Operations Branch and the operation of all sanitary, combined, water, and storm water pumping stations and water storage facilities of the District of Columbia.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages and provides day-to-day leadership to the team engaged in specified operational activities as appropriate to the position specifically related to the operations of nine sewer pump stations, four water pump stations, sixteen storm water pump stations, and eight water storage facilities, which are all 24-hour, 365 day on-call operations.
- Lead asset management, reliability, cost reduction, energy management initiatives and support the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs. Provides conditional assessment and recommendations for the replacement of equipment.
- Recommend, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators and monitor monthly performance against forecast and benchmarks.
- Leads the monthly water pumping and consumption reconciliation reports to ensure there is minimal loss to DC Water.
- Utilize financial data to develop business cases and business benefits to assist the Director in decision making and prepare the Branch’s budget and monitor expenditures.
