JOB SUMMARY

The Head Volleyball Coach/Social Media Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the College’s intercollegiate women’s volleyball program and coordinating social media operations for Intercollegiate Athletics. As a member of the Athletics Department, this position works collaboratively with Athletics staff, Student Services personnel, other college departments, high school representatives, and colleagues at other institutions to develop and maintain a high-quality volleyball program while providing an excellent experience for student-athletes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Volleyball Coaching (65%)

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the intercollegiate Women’s Volleyball program, including recruiting student-athletes, scheduling practices and competitions, coordinating team travel, and managing equipment and program operations.
  • Develop, administer, and monitor the program budget while maintaining equipment inventory and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Instruct and develop student-athletes in volleyball skills, strategies, fundamentals, and competition preparation at the intercollegiate level.
  • Advise and support student-athletes in academic planning, course selection, academic progress, retention, completion, and transfer opportunities to four-year institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all institutional, TCCAA (Tennessee Community College Athletic Association), and NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics.
  • Oversee coaching assistants (if applicable) and participate in fundraising, public relations, promotional activities, and other Athletics Department initiatives as assigned.

Social Media (30%)

  • Coordinate and manage the College’s Athletics social media platforms, including promoting game schedules, scores, team updates, and upcoming events.
  • Work with coaches and staff to ensure timely submission and posting of content related to athletic programs and events.
  • Create and distribute social media communications and promotional content to increase engagement and visibility for Athletics programs.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and consistent messaging across all assigned Athletics social media accounts.

Additional Support Duties (5%)

  • May be required to achieve additional skills, knowledge, or credential levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
