About the role

We partner is seeking a Senior Facilities Project Manager based in Boston, MA. The Senior Facilities Project Manager will work closely with the Vice President of Facilities & Building Operations to ensure successful project delivery while minimizing any negative impact. This position requires collaboration with Museum employees and contractors and will involve managing projects of varying size and scope.


Responsibilities:

  • Seamlessly interface projects with the Museum's physical plant, which includes 1,000,000 square feet of museum property and 7 multi-purpose buildings, such as a parking garage, Planetarium, Omni Theater, exhibits, programs, and office areas, as well as animal living areas.
  • Manage components of an annual expense budget of $4.0 million and a capital project budget of up to $10 million in coordination with the Vice President of Facilities & Building Operations.
  • Handle projects ranging from $50k to $1M, with a strong focus on building mechanical systems.
  • Interface with up to 50 Museum employees and contractors involved in supporting projects.
  • Understand the building's electrical systems, including electricity delivery and steam systems, as part of construction and renovation projects.
  • Familiarize yourself with building systems, such as natural gas boilers, chilled water, high voltage distribution stations, generators, UPS, fire suppression and alarm systems, elevators/escalators, environmental controls, and a computer-operated building management system.
  • Occasionally collaborate with Museum Board Members through the Physical Facilities Committee and Environmental Sustainability and Green Building Teams.
  • Work with various Museum teams to integrate projects seamlessly during and after business hours, 365 days a year, while minimizing any negative impact on the visitors' experience.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in facilities project management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems and electrical systems.
  • Ability to manage projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work during and after business hours, including weekends and holidays.
