Job Summary:

The Network Engineer will support the CASTLE-NET program by designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. This role involves collaboration with IT teams and stakeholders to develop policies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with USACE IT standards and best practices. This is a remote, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure and scalable network solutions.
• Manage and optimize network infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
• Perform network assessments and support SDN architecture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues using tools like Wireshark.
• Automate network configurations and maintain documentation.
• Ensure compliance with USACE IT policies and cybersecurity standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Senior Network Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
• Proficient in SDN, network assessments, and automation.
• Strong experience with Cisco, Juniper, and network analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Preferred: CCNA, CCNP, and experience in USACE environments.
• Clearance: Top Secret

Journeyman Network Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
• Solid understanding of network principles and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and tools like Wireshark.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Preferred: CCNA, CCNP, and familiarity with USACE environments.
• Clearance: Secret

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary:
  • Journeyman: $85,000 – $100,000 annually
  • Senior: $110,000-$130,000
• Paid Time Off: 15 days PTO annually
• Holidays: 11 paid federal holidays
