About the role
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: onboarding, HR compliance, entry level employee relations, employee recognition, and training.
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Handles entry level employee relations counseling.
- Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or equivalent education, training, and experience; and 1-3 years of human resources experience.
- Computer skills preferred: Human Resource/Payroll Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
