Pay Range
$35,900.00-$49,400.00 AnnualThis is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Position Overview: The Shipping and Receiving Technician 2 is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency. This role involves advanced problem-solving, training, and the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and PPE:
- Select and use appropriate Plant PPE and Task Specific PPE.
- Maintain safe work habits to protect self and others, recognizing and correcting potential hazards.
- Ensure hand safety and comply with hazardous communication standards.
- Follow Control of Hazardous Energy (LOTO) procedures.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate forklifts and powered pallet jacks safely.
- Conduct pre-use inspections and operate cranes, including rigging and using lift devices.
- Practice safe manual lifting techniques.
- Handle compressed gas cylinders safely, including deliveries and shipments.
- Compliance and Policies:
- Adhere to JM Life Critical Policies.
- Utilize computer skills for email, safety skills training, and Workday.
- Use the Good Catch System and SharePoint for reporting and documentation.
- Complete all required training on time.
- Environmental and Waste Management:
- Manage waste streams, including scrap metal and environmental waste.
- Understand and sign off on Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Tools and Measurements:
- Use common hand and power tools effectively.
- Employ measuring tools and apply basic shop math for measurements, geometry, volume, and area calculations.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Process purchase requests and manage outbound and inbound shipments.
- Handle special shipment requirements and manage inventory.
- Identify parts and use SAP at an intermediate to advanced level.
- Process documents and manage LTL freight operations.
- Verify weights and conduct visual inspections for damage, quantity, and correctness of received goods.
- Handle damage claims and identify materials and metals.
- Rotate stock and maintain target service levels.
- Operate Insta Pak systems and control documents.
- Advanced Responsibilities:
- Manage Federal Express shipments.
- Recognize and correct hazards proactively.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in training team members to meet department requirements.
- Handle non-routine tasks and provide solutions to complex problems.
Minimal Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to housekeeping.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for documentation and communication.
- Ability to complete training and certifications as required.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.
- Experience with inventory management and shipping/receiving processes.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to develop SOPs.
- Experience in training and mentoring team members.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with various equipment and tools.
