Pharmacy PGY1 Resident

Position Overview

• Department: Pharmacy
• Schedule: Various days of the week, including some weekends and various hours.
• Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

What You Will Do

Assure appropriate selection, dosing, administration and monitoring of medication orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

• Review, verify and enter physician orders into the patient medication profile.
• Manage medication therapy protocols as a part of physician-pharmacist-nurse team.
• Compound and dispense medications accurately for delivery to patient care areas.
• Provide medication information and education to medical staff and patients.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Must possess a valid Pharmacy Intern/Extern License at the time of hire and be eligible for Pharmacist licensure.
• Registered Pharmacist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Pharmacy must be obtained by September 1 following hire

Education:

• Enrolled OR graduate of an accredited Pharmacy degree program
