Finance Analyst (FP&A)

POSITION PURPOSE

The Finance Analyst will report to the Southern Europe Cluster FP&A Manager, responsible for providing support to markets across Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Malta. This role encompasses supporting all activity relating to financial planning and analysis including monthly and quarterly reporting, budgeting and forecasting and proactive analysis to drive commercial performance. The role requires interaction with Finance colleagues across international as well as commercial business leaders across the Southern Europe Cluster.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Analyst will have responsibilities supporting the following activities but not limited to:

• Review of monthly financial results from markets across Southern Europe Cluster, including working with Commercial colleagues to understand key drivers of financial performance. Conduct in-depth analysis of P&L on a monthly basis and identify areas needing management attention in a timely manner.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial reports for management. Perform monthly and ad-hoc analysis as required such as new product performance, volume and price analysis, tracking sell in/sell out, product margin review, trending analysis, drill-down on cost of goods sold and expense items.

• Support the preparation of the quarter earnings reporting, providing commentary on key performance drivers for revenue, gross margin and operating expenses.

• Active, key role in the Operating Plan and Forecast processes across Southern Europe Cluster, aligned with International Finance requirements.

• Review, analyze and understand Commercial projections in order to provide business leaders with an overview of growth, budget and prior forecast variance drivers.

• Scope of Operating Plan/Forecast Submissions include revenue, volume and price, cost of sales, operating expenses, headcount, lost sales (i.e. supply constraints), accounts receivable and daily sales outstanding (DSO), risks & opportunities.

• Contribute to ongoing Zoetis efficiency opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives, including playing a key role in priority FP&A projects.

• Work collaboratively with Finance, Pricing, Demand and Commercial colleagues to ensure execution of the responsibilities related to planning and budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Education: Undergraduate degree in Finance, Data Analysis, Economics, Business Administration or similar.

Experience: Experience in a fast - paced corporate environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial analysis or consulting related role.

Knowledge:

• Understanding of financial planning processes, procedure, accounting process and internal controls.

• Decision-making support experience in different aspects of financial management including financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and management reporting and analytics.

• Ability to identify business issues and opportunities through financial analysis and reporting.

• Microsoft Office capabilities, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word are essential.

• Working knowledge of SAP, Anaplan, Hyperion Financial Management and/ or Essbase are desired.

• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate are a plus.

Skills:

• Fluency (both written and spoken) in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

• Analytical and solution oriented to resolve complex issues, with attention to detail.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines (operating plan, forecasting and month-end close activities).

• Strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of management and the ability to engage remotely with Business leaders.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a matrix organization, managing multiple stakeholders with the ability to influence and persuade through personal credibility, integrity and professionalism.
