About this opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking a Manager, Incident Learning and Performance to drive continuous improvement, foster a culture of transparency & accountability, and proactive learning across teams. This position will collaborate with cross-functional customers to identify performance gaps and implement targeted training and development initiatives. By driving data-driven insights and effective communication, the manager will ensure organizational resilience and improved operational excellence.
What you’ll do:
Guide and manage continuous improvement efforts throughout the US Downstream to support Cenovus COIMS Element 8 – Incident Management
Take charge of major incident inquiries as required and develop investigation expertise and proficiencies throughout the US Downstream
Coordinate the Downstream Incident Learning Forum to ensure discoveries from internal and external events are effectively shared and incorporated across the business
Lead assurance activities at the site level to ensure findings are incorporated
Oversee the HSE metric reporting processes and tools spanning the US Downstream
Lead the analysis of HSE performance data at the business level to identify trends and insights
Serve as the owner of systems/tools/processes that enables performance benchmarking vs external peers (eg AFPM Benchmarking)
Who you are:
Legally authorized to work in the US
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related technical field
12+ years of refining, petrochemical or closely related industry experience
Expertise in Root Cause Investigation methodologies and tools
Experience collaborating with Industry Trade Associations in the Incident Learning space (eg AFPM)
Working knowledge of Chemical Safety Board Investigation processes and learning materials
Breadth of knowledge across Operations, Maintenance and Engineering HSE functions
