A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
• Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
• Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
• Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
• May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
• May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs and preventive maintenance duties for plant and office facilities including machinery and other equipment.
• Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machines, and equipment repair, electrical and mechanical. 
• Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment, including required preventive maintenance activities.
• Repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems and equipment such as motors, transformers, wiring, switches, and CNC controls.
• Locates and repairs malfunctions using test equipment such as volt/OHM meter and other diagnostic equipment. Installs wiring in accordance with N.E.C. regulations.
• Operates a fork lift truck, boom lift, and an electric scissors lift.
• Works at ceiling heights on lights, transformers, ducts, pipes, fans, motors, and doors.
• Conducts repairs and routine maintenance of the RODI Water System.
• Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
• Performs proper documentation of repairs and preventive maintenance in compliance to quality procedures.
• May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with SAP maintenance work order system.
• Previous experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Previous CNC, PLC or Robotic system experience.
• Previous experience Analyze and repair PC board level machine control problems.
• Working knowledge of production-related systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education. 
• Experience with 3 phase electrical systems and service connections.
• Experience with Data / Communications network connections.

Required Knowledge and Experience: 

• Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.
