Raytheon Advanced Products and Solutions is seeking an experienced seasoned Sr. Supplier Quality, Hardware Quality & Receiving Inspection professional. Works as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility. May manage Supplier Quality & Development processes and / or projects. Uses experience and knowledge to influence
supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
This position is an onsite role at our Goleta, CA location and requires the ability to travel to suppliers to perform quality inspections.
What You Will Do
- Implement and perform Supplier Quality & Development responsibilities as a member of a program team or Integrated Product Team (IPT) to include Supplier Quality, Hardware Quality and Receiving Inspection.
- Manages supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation processes, processing of supplier submission of nonconforming material.
- Performs supplier visits, manages source inspection, FAI reviews per AS9102 and material release processes.
- Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic supplier process and product materials.
- Proactively supports the RTX supplier programs to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.
- Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies; addressing them with key proactive quality tools (e.g.PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), as well as driving their implementation.
- Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all contract requirements including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
- Support Quality Receiving Inspection and Test.
- Participate in document and drawing reviews, approvals, and verifications as a Hardware Quality Engineer.
- Regularly participate in manufacturing reviews and supplier technical reviews.
- Perform and support Quality Management System audits to ISO9001 & AS9100 standards.
- Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on Six Sigma, Lean practices and other critical thinking improvement methods and resources.
- Support the development of program Quality Inspection Plans.
- Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager.
- Ability to work in a lab environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a J-Std-001/IPC-A-610 Certification.
- Obtain and maintain additional program access as required.
Qualification You Must Have
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of engineering experience.
- Working and auditing experience with a Quality Management System including ISO 9001 and/or AS9100).
- Working experience with Supplier Quality, Receiving Inspection and Hardware Quality.
- Working experience with drawings/specs and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Working experience with Nonconforming Material Boards and/or Failure Review Boards (MRB/FRB).
- Working experience performing quality inspections, test witnessing, and preparing and presenting end item data packages.
- Working experience with Corrective Action Systems and Six-Sigma Resources.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with factory systems and software (e.g. PRISM, SAP, and Windchill).
