About the role

In this role, Head of Sales Insights and Strategic Partner Support, you will support Group Benefits Distribution team by playing a crucial role in areas such as improved distribution business analysis, measuring the success of strategic initiatives, driving analytics insights and evaluating external partnership investments worth over $700M annually.  Your work will play a crucial part in ensuring Group Benefits Distribution team makes sound financial and strategic decisions that drive sustainable business growth.  You’ll get senior leadership exposure, focusing real-time on the highest priority business issues and being plugged into every facet of the business.

You will

  • Conduct advanced business analytics, delivering impactful and actionable insights that drive decision-making.  This includes publishing and maintaining KPI dashboards; routinely analyzing and synthesizing for the sales leadership team with recommended actions.
  • Bring innovative ways to analyze complex data and present insights, in simple and compelling ways to non-finance audiences.
  • Assist in driving standardized Reporting, Forecasting, Budgeting, and Budget vs Actual processes and narratives including quarterly business reviews and monthly operating reviews.
  • Lead the monthly sales forecasting process by leveraging emerging results and insights from sales teams.  This includes the redesign of local market sales projections incorporating staffing changes, pricing, competitor practices and dental network impacts.
  • Reinforce and refine existing data and processes to improve sales reporting optimization.  Ensuring that our data and processes effectively support our business partner needs.
  • Provide consulting and prioritization between Distribution and Enterprise Data & Analytics for standard and ad hoc sales reporting capabilities for the national and local sales team.
  • Develop benefit realization framework for Distribution projects, both lean business cases as well as Data & Analytics projects impacting Sales.
  • Work cross-functionally to align sales strategies and initiatives. This will include supporting the Head of Commercial Strategy & Field Operations and Head of FP&A as needed.
  • Incorporate external benchmarking for Distribution results, including product, market and broker data.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution Strategy team on micro segmentation efforts in order to accelerate revenue growth and opportunity.
  • Support the Group Benefits Marketing Team, specifically Account Based Marketing, by providing data and insights to target the right audience to optimize campaign dollars.
  • Be the go-to finance leader for our National Market Leader for Key Markets.  Support this new channel vertical by providing dedicated finance support to assist in the evaluation of emerging and high-growth partners such as PEOs, technology platforms and digital aggregators.
  • Support the Head of GA and Broker Management by defining and reporting on success metrics for our GA and National Partners.

You have

  • 8+ years of progressive finance and/or sales analytics experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, actuarial science, economics, finance or related discipline.
  • Proficiency with Tableau software a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to analyze financial data sets and tell the story of the data.
  • Familiarity with predictive forecasting techniques and scenario modeling.
  • Proven ability to complete high quality work efficiently and increase autonomy over time.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience building, leading, and motivating a team.
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and strategies.

Location

This is a flexible position requiring 2 days per week in the office, with preference given to candidates within commuting proximity to a Guardian office. We will consider internal, remote candidates if experience is aligned and ability to travel to Guardian offices as determined by the People Leader.
