What you’ll do:

  • Lead the implementation of best practices for Exadata and Autonomous Databases in the cloud.
  • Proactively address Oracle security notifications and assess their impact on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
  • Manage all aspects of Oracle database administration, including installation, upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and security.
  • Refresh and support DEV/TEST environments from production, troubleshoot database issues, and optimize system performance.
  • Oversee cloud migration projects, moving databases to platforms such as OCI and Azure, and configure critical cloud components like storage, compute, and virtual networks.
  • Design and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle GoldenGate, Data Guard, and Real Application Clusters (RAC).
  • Strengthen database security by implementing encryption, managing certificates, and maintaining compliance with audit requirements (e.g., SOX).
  • Support backup and recovery operations using RMAN, and ensure robust data protection strategies are in place.
  • Streamline user management processes, including handling production update requests and provisioning user accounts.
  • Collaborate with Oracle Support and internal teams to resolve incidents, support audits, and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll need:

  • Deep experience with Oracle database architecture (on-premises and cloud), including Oracle EBS and, for some roles, PostgreSQL.
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and, for some positions, Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong Linux/Unix server administration and shell scripting skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in database management, including installation, patching, upgrades, space management, and replication.
  • Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery technologies such as RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Proficiency in security and compliance tools, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), DB Vault, Voltage, GPG, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), RMAN for backups, and ServiceNow for IT service management.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle across Dev, Test, UAT, and Prod environments.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or Sciences—or equivalent experience.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 7 years of experience in public cloud platforms, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Oracle Cloud Technology operations or administration.
  • Preferably, 7+ years working with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience administering PaaS services such as GoldenGate, ATP, ADW, and Fusion ERP.
  • Proven ability to provision and monitor Oracle ATP & ADW Autonomous Data Guard, manage backups, and support usage monitoring and scaling in OCI.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative team mindset and a proactive approach to solving complex challenges.
  • Previous AT&T experience is preferred but not required.
