Analog Devices Inc is seeking a principal Digital Design Engineer to design integrated circuits and support assigned products through the full product life cycle in the Automotive Electrification and Sustainable Energy Business Unit located in Chandler, AZ. Emphasis will be on Architecture, design, implementation and follow through to production of digital core for PMIC automotive ICs. Verification of digital core as well as customer return issues will also be required. Project and/or personnel leadership responsibilities are required.
Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:
- Ownership of digital interfaces, state machines, and controlling logic required to implement new products in a wide range of application spaces
- Digital architecture, design, and problem solving
- Synthesis, Place and Route, STA, LEC, GLS
- Digital leadership responsibilities
- Managing a team of several engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Working closely with analog lead and team to architect system
- Documentation responsibility for digital portion of IC
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of Digital and Mixed-Signal IC design experience
- Strong RTL coding and block-level verification
- Digital design for synchronous applications, including multiple clock domains
- Strong System Verilog fluency in design, simulation, and verification domains
- Design for test, scan insertion, ATPG, functional test vectors, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience debugging and working in UVM verification environment
- Demonstrated success in project leadership role
- Knowledge of and capability to independently execute entire digital design flow (front-to-back)
- Technical project management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of functionality for SMPS (BUCK, BOOST, BUCK-BOOST, Current/voltage mode control etc.)
- Strong background of working within an analog team and getting parts into production.
- Definition and implementation of custom digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
- Definition, design, and verification experience with custom state machines and control logic for use with analog circuits such as data converters, mixed signal processing functions, references, linear regulators, DC-DC converters, etc.
- Mixed-signal simulation (Cadence AMS), interfacing with analog functions (Verilog-AMS or real number modeling experience a plus).
- Advanced knowledge of complex IC verification techniques (SystemVerilog/UVM
- Product definition involvement
- Prior experience managing direct reports
- Experience in introducing products to the market and/or customer support
