Senior Scientist* Immunoreceptor Therapy 

 

At BioNTech, you will support the Immunoreceptor Therapy department in developing novel and promising T cell-based immunotherapies against cancer.

 

Your main responsibilities are: 

 

• Development of strategies to enhance T cell therapy from in vitro validation to preclinical testing

• Establishment of mouse models (syngeneic/xenogeneic) for preclinical testing of enhanced CAR/TCR T cells

• Implementation of novel gene transfer strategies to ensure safety and improved persistence of the genetically modified cell products in patients

• Planning, execution, as well as documentation of experiments, processing and presentation of results and writing of SOPs/reports

• Supervision of technical and scientific personal

• Data presentation and discussion within a team of experts, with associated subject matter experts or at scientific conferences

• Exchange knowledge and strategies with experts working in other projects to ensure cross-functional development and implementation of novel enhancer approaches

 

What you have to offer:

 

• Completed doctorate in the field of (tumor) immunology, biology, biomedicine or comparable qualification with extensive PostDoc or industrial R&D experience (5 – 10 years). Medical degree is preferable

• FELASA Function A (formerly FELASA B), certificate for animal trial project design (FELASA Function B, formerly FELASA C) is a plus

• Extensive knowledge in the fields of (T cell) immunology, cell therapy and immunooncology 

• Hands-on experience with in vivo models (preferably mouse tumor models) including establishment of novel models

• Hands-on experience with isolation/culture of primary cells, genetic manipulation of human and mouse (T) cells (retroviral, transposon-based, or similar), T cell-based assays, e.g. ELISpot/ELISA, multiplex cytokine analysis, cytotoxicity assays

• Profound hands-on knowledge in multicolor flow cytometric analysis, experience with cell sorting is a plus

• Careful processing of data, documentation and reporting of results

• Very good communication skills, the ability to work within a cross-functional team towards a common goal, and very good English language skills complete your profile
