Senior Network/Systems Engineer

Purpose and Impact: Amentum/Secure Networking Solutions is seeking a senior Network/Systems Engineer responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of program systems. The candidate will oversee the program’s Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS). The candidate will build scripts, provide expert technical assistance to team members, and build and patch servers (Linux and Windows). The candidate should have excellent networking skills, including an understanding of IP Schema, scripting, hardware, and other aspects of building and maintaining networks and systems.  

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

• Design and deploy functional servers on Linux and Windows operating systems. 

• Maintain system compliance with cybersecurity standards and practices 

• Monitor system performance and integrity.  

• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.  

• Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery, etc.)  

• Communicate with users when needed.  

• Maintain complete technical documentation.  

• Suggest improvements to performance, capacity, and scalability.  

• Install systems in CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations as directed by project PM.  

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:  Office Setting, but may be required to install sensors and cabling, requiring use of ladders and lifting up to 20 pounds. 

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): 

• Experience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical and training manuals or similar documentation to include documents required for A&A IAW ICD 503. (Templates will be available). 

• Experience in Windows administration, Active Directory administration 

• Experience in administrative scripting languages. 

• Experience with integration, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of operating systems in a multi-domain environment. 

• Knowledge and experience with Virtual Infrastructure technologies per the applicable level stated in the table below. 

• Experience in all components of Windows and Linux system infrastructure per the applicable level stated
