Project Overview:

Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing work across multiple business lines including Public Infrastructure, Renewables & Clean Power, and Heavy Civil. The successful candidate will serve as a Project Controls Engineer in the Reston, VA office supporting projects, proposals, and prospects.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support schedule development, maintenance, reporting, monitoring activities, cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for the Infrastructure GBU. You will apply company policies and procedures to support various projects, proposals, and prospects. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports schedule development, maintenance, reporting, monitoring activities, cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and, as directed 
  • Collects or receives, as directed, drawings and other scope definition documentation that applies to assigned discipline or commodity specialty and verifies adequacy and completeness
  • Performs, as directed, routine quantity takeoffs, within discipline or commodity specialty, from engineering and construction drawings 
  • Prepares and presents schedule/cost information at meetings, as directed 
  • Performs schedule and cost data analysis, identifies opportunities/challenges and makes recommendations

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business management or related field required
  • University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Skilled in oral and written communication
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office 365 software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Entry level knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes
  • Ability to take initiative in project related tasks and coordination with various stakeholders
