Your role

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Team Lead Accounting with German within our Plugsurfing division, and is located in Berlin. In this role, you will have full accountability of your responsibility areas and work closely with the rest of the Finance team to ensure high-quality accounting data to support business decisions and meet the company’s compliance requirements. You will be responsible for the statutory accounting of Plugsurfing GmbH and ensure tax compliance in your areas of responsibility. You will also lead audit process from accounting side and contribute to accounting-focused development processes.  You will manage an accounting team of three employees and report to Head of Finance, Plugsurfing.

As a Team Lead Accounting you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment (on average 2 days home office vs 3 days in office presence).

 Role Responsibilities 

• Taking the lead on the accounting to produce statutory accounts for Plugsurfing entities within the required timetables   
• Ensuring full Tax compliancy in your responsibility areas
• Leading the statutory monthly closing process and validation of the financial data  
• Working closely with the rest of the Finance Team to ensure high-quality monthly financial information.   
• Developing and maintaining accounting processes together with the finance team to meet company targets and compliance requirements  
• Participating and supporting the Plugsurfing audit activities and development projects  
• Be the key contact person for the auditors   
• Supporting the Finance team with ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed  
• You would assume the Team leadership for 3 Accounting colleagues
   

Qualifications & Skills 

• Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• 6+ years of experience as Financial Accountant

• All professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, Bilanzbuchhalter) are very welcome and a strong plus 
• You are fluent in German and English (at least B2) both in written and oral forms 
• You have a good understanding of  accounting standards (e.g. German GAAP, Polish GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, Dutch GAAP, etc)   
• You have strong accounting skills and a can-do attitude with attention to details  
• Our main ERP is Dynamics D365 so experience with Dynamics, Navision or Business Central is very beneficial
• You have a strong tolerance to uncertainty and adaptation to a quickly changing work environment, are comfortable making decisions in your responsibility area quickly without all the information  
• You are a fast thinker and able to quickly respond to multiple stakeho
• You have high IT literacy and able to deal with large data sets
• You are energetic, resourceful, and do what it takes to get the job done   Additional qualifications
• Experience with payroll accounting it is a plus  
• A good understanding of German and international VAT taxation is an asset
• Previous experience in  working with payment service providers (e.g. Stripe,) 
• Knowledge of Dutch, Polish or Swedish is an additional asset
