Position Summary:
The Diabetes Educator (DE) provides individualized self-management education/training for diabetes and related diseases of obesity, cardiovascular disease, renal disease to individuals and groups according to the Scope of Practice, Standards of Practice, and Standards of Professional performance for Diabetes Educators (AADE, 2005) as well as hospital standards and policies. The DE serves as a resource to colleagues, allied personnel, physicians and consumers of healthcare within the hospital and/or community. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree or other advanced certification required (i.e., CDE, HFE, etc.)
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Dietitian in the State of Missouri.
Experience: Previous clinical experience
