In this role, you will report to the Director of US Market Access and support the assessment and development of coding and reimbursement pathways for our diabetes technologies.The Diabetes Group is working to change the way people manage diabetes. As Principal Reimbursement Analyst, you will support the development of the coding and market access strategies to gain coverage and reimbursement for our diabetes therapies. The successful candidate should have experience working within a commercial organization and conducting analysis of coding, medical policy and payment for medical technologies. Ability to work within a matrix organization and develop coding and reimbursement materials is necessary. A Day in A Life:
- Supports the development and implementation of reimbursement strategies and programs to obtain coverage, coding and payment from payer/providers
- Provides reimbursement-related advice to product development teams, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical and business leaders
- Develops and implements an integrated payer value proposition from early development through market maturity to transition to newer therapies
- Integrates health economic research evidence into compelling value propositions for healthcare decision-makers
- Creates training and educational programs to sales force, physicians, medical directors, billing personnel, distributors, and other external stakeholders
- Focused primarily on US reimbursement planning activities, with strategies spanning durable medical equipment, pharmacy, physician, and other payment systems as required
Qualifications - External
Must Have: Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years experience in health policy, reimbursement, health economics, health services research, or other field with direct relevance to the role, OR
- Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years prior experience in health policy, reimbursement, health economics, health services research, or other field with direct relevance to the role
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of U.S. healthcare reimbursement mechanisms (Medicare and commercial payment systems, third-party payer coverage, clinical and procedural coding) and regulations related to medical technology products
Nice to Have
- MS, MPH, MHA, MBA
- Project management experience
- Solid working knowledge of clinical trial policy coverage and understanding of clinical procedures and clinical study design
- Proven work experience in providing coding, coverage, and payment advice in a healthcare setting with an emphasis on medical technology
- Able to work independently, cross functionally and as part of a team to problem solve and seek advice when necessary performing work with limited oversight and supervision
- Able to manage multiple tasks with high degree of organization-prioritization skill and attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to apply strong analytical skills to a variety of situations of varying ambiguity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; skilled and engaging presenter
- Ability to travel: 10 – 20%
