JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Staff Accountant performs various accounting tasks related to the efficient and accurate maintenance of the company’s financial records. The person will be provided day to day direction and support from the Sr. Manager Accounting. Routine duties and responsibilities are handled independently with the use of established policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform monthly financial statement close processes for business units and/or functional areas of responsibility including but not limited:
- Cash, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals.
- Analysis of foreign currency gain/loss transactions.
- Preparation and documentation of manual journal entries.
- Preparation and documentation of account reconciliations.
- Will be responsible for reviewing monthly financial statements of designated International entities and performing fluctuation analysis. Will own designated entity’s general ledgers and financial statements.
- Ensure that financial records are kept in accordance with US GAAP and local statutory regulations, and all appropriate records are retained.
- Assist with preparation of Statutory Financial Statements.
- Assist with external audits including statutory audits.
- Maintain an effective and SOX compliant internal control structure.
- Complete various other ad-hoc analyses as directed by the Sr. Manager Accounting and other members of the Finance department.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5 or more years of experience in a matrix organization.
- General understanding of US GAAP.
- Experience with multi-currency transactions.
- Proven track record of working in small teams and remotely.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office, Oracle and FloQast preferred.
- Other major European languages a plus.
