Title:    Program Instructor (Impact Lead I-South County)-Part Time

Work Schedule: Part-time, non- exempt; generally scheduled up to 25 hours a week, Monday – Friday between 7:00 am-6:00 pm with monthly Saturday meetings; and occasional evenings and weekends for field trips and special events.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the South County Program Coordinator, the South County Impact Lead I will support youth success through outstanding, Mission-driven and integrity-centered leadership and assist management of school site programming in South County. They accomplish this by engaging youth in age-appropriate and outcome-driven programs. This includes ensuring a safe, positive, fun and impactful environment that engages hundreds of diverse youth, ages 6 to 18 years old. This position involves flexible hours and remote work due to program delivery occurring at school sites in South County and requires a high level of community relations with schools, administrators and other community partners.  The Impact Lead’s primary work location is the Boys & Girls Club administrative office in Salinas and remote office location when needed.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Foster a safe, positive, fun and impactful program  where participants acquire a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, power and influence. 
• Assist Girls’ Leadership Network (GLN) lessons, GHGH summit, and advocacy project(s).
• Address youth behavior with a positive discipline approach that is fair, firm, consistent and kind;  helping youth take responsibility/accountability for their actions accompanied with appropriate consequences.  
• Support a culture of high expectations and frequent recognition of youth for their efforts and achievements. 
• Responsible for delivery of school-day and after-school program commitment established in quarterly/annual goals.
• Monitors progress and takes action accordingly, emphasis on youth reach (e.g., outreach, recruitment, retention, average daily/weekly attendance, program participation, etc.) and impact. 
• Utilizes impact management tools such as tracking attendance to benchmark progress.
• Support with implemented grant funded projects under the leadership of the South County Program Coordinator.
• Contributes to strategic planning with clarity of goals, roles and responsibilities.
• Assists with leadership at site based Family Nights and program celebrations.
• Identify any safety, transportation, maintenance, and technology issues to supervisor & Operations.
• Contribute to social media efforts with supervisor & Marketing on strategies to build awareness of the GHGH & South County programs and ensure all media communication is on-brand.
• Work with teachers/staff/liaisons as needed to support program efforts.
• Maintains positive, collaborative working relationships with South County schools, community leaders and other stakeholders to achieve goals. 
• Imbue BGCMC’s solid reputation as a respected, trusted & impactful youth development agency. 
• Maintains safety and order of program, including field trips and youth services delivered at non-BGCMC locations as well as compliance to policy and standard operating procedures. 
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures determined by each site location.
• Assist with maintaining inventory, ensure equipment/supplies are in good working order and stewarded for intended use. 
• Compliance with all BGCMC COVID-19 policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned in alignment with fulfilling primary function of position.

• Must be able to bend, lift, stretch
• Must frequently travel to various locations in Monterey County to provide program services
• 60% of your working time is off-site

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year experience in the implementation of programming for youth.
• Tech savvy, including proficiency in utilizing Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and Internet for program facilitation and maximum productivity.
• Effectively demonstrates classroom management skills.
• Must have reliable transportation
