The Web Tech Engineering team is responsible for providing a solid software technology platform serving 134 public-facing websites of our company under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. These websites serve around 4 million individual visits per month, providing comprehensive data about our investment funds on ~160 000 so-called product pages, enable roughly 1500 updates of web content and 10000 document uploads daily, as well as provide authentication for more than 600 000 registered users globally.

The Role and Impact

Manage a global team of more than 60 employees and contractors who:

• Publish content to the company’s 100+ public websites;
• Manage the quality controls, training and risk monitoring of web content and documents on the public websites;
• Coordinate the Red Oak Compliance system (SaaS) used for the review, approval and regulatory filing of marketing content firm-wide.

The role includes day-to-day operations management of publishing and quality assurance procedures; leadership or participation in web projects that enhance the firm’s digital experience and improve operating efficiency; and setting the mission, objectives and strategies to drive the function into a rapidly changing technology and business landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead an India-based team of FTEs and contractors to ensure web publishing operations are meeting internal client SLAs and risk management and compliance standards.
• Lead a team primarily based in Edinburgh, UK to develop the quality management, risk controls and training programs that protect the firm from the reputational or regulatory risk of publishing errors.
• Lead a team that partners with Legal and Compliance to administer access, permissions and workflows used by more than 3,000 employees for review and approval of marketing content.
• Serve as a web and document publishing Subject Matter Expert on cross-functional project teams and governance forums.
• Manage the budget, contracting and relationships with key vendors and contractor agencies that support these operations.

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in website operations management; previous experience in web publishing operations preferred.
• 5+ years of experience managing a global, multi-level operations organization, developing and mentoring line managers.
• Demonstrated experience building and developing a high-performing, diverse and inclusive team of managers and individual contributors across multiple geographic regions
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working teamworks with senior leaders in partner and client groups across multiple lines of business.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• An analytical mindset to use metrics and KPIs to drive quality and operational efficiency across the organization
• Demonstrated experience working with engineering teams to set standards and requirements and drive platform improvements
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulatory environment strongly preferred.
