<h2>The Position</h2>   We are looking for an experienced, team-oriented, and dynamic Senior System Engineer to strengthen the IT Operations and Laboratory global Manufacturing Enablement team at Boehringer Ingelheim. You will support the global business community to generate value out of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data.    <span><span><span><b>This position can be filled in different countries.</b></span></span></span>   If you want to apply for the position in Spain, please use this link: <a href="https://jobs.boehringer-ingelheim.com/job-invite/19704/?isInternalUser=true">Link</a> <br/> If you want to apply for the position in Germany, Ingelheim or Biberach, click "Apply now".   <h2>Tasks &amp; Responsibilities </h2> <ul> <li>You will step into the future as the System Lead of Boehringer Ingelheim's MES data platform, where you will design, build, and support highly available data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka.</li> <li>In your new role, you will implement installations, configurations, updates, and more in our Kafka-based solution, always adhering to the validated and qualified Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.</li> <li>Monitoring and fix any availability and performance issues on our middleware platform will be a key part of your proactive role, ensuring seamless operation.</li> <li>As part of your responsibilities, you will implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions, maximizing platform availability during both planned and unplanned outages.</li> <li>Upholding our high standards, you will ensure the stable, compliant, and secure operation of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Kafka environment.</li> <li>You will automate repetitive tasks and develop self-service solutions for accessing and managing the Kafka environments, utilizing appropriate tools and frameworks.</li> <li>Driving our digital transformation forward, you will integrate the Kafka Environment into the Boehringer Ingelheim Dataland ecosystem based on Amazon Web Services (AWS).</li> </ul> <h2><br/> Requirements </h2> <ul> <li>Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, math / statistics or in a comparable, scientific course of studies coupled with several years of IT experience</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of data streaming and processing along with familiarity with the latest system designs, frameworks, and tools</li> <li>Building and administering Apache/Confluent Kafka platforms is something you have done extensively</li> <li>Classic data warehousing, data pipelines using ETL processes, and related programming languages and tools are areas where you have gained hands-on experience</li> <li>Proven experience in setting up monitoring and management with tools like Dynatrace</li> <li>We highly value experience in Kafka security, specifically with a focus on mastering encryption and authentication via SSL, SASL, and ACLs</li> <li>Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools like Ansible, Jenkins, shell, python would be a significant advantage</li> <li>A background in manufacturing execution systems, serialization and aggregation solutions, or IT systems for manufacturing processes would be highly beneficial</li> <li>Fluency in English, along with excellent communication and presentation skills, is one of your key strengths, Spanish and German language skills are a plus</li> </ul>   <h2>Ready to contact us? </h2>   If you have any questions about the job posting or process - please contact our HR Direct Team, Tel: +49 (0) 6132 77-3330 or via mail: hr.de@boehringer-ingelheim.com   <u>Recruitment process:</u><br/> Step 1: Online application - application deadline is March 26th, 2025.<br/> Step 2: Virtual meeting in the period from the end of March/beginning of April<br/> Step 3: On-site interviews mid of April   <br/>
