The Valley Medical Group is part of the Valley Health System. The construction of The New Valley Hospital, due to be completed in late 2023, will be a 900,000-square-foot state-of-the-art healthcare destination site on a 40-acre campus in Paramus.

Time Commitment: Physician shall spend approximately 4 hours per week performing the administrative services set forth below.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manages the group of physicians who provide cardiac anesthesia to ensure the seamless transition of care from all cardiac anesthesia and post-anesthesia areas. This role is responsible for ensuring coverage of all cardiac anesthesia areas 24/7/365 in accordance with volume and standards set by VMG and the Hospital.
• Holds primary responsibility for the management of the Division of cardiac anesthesia including oversight of the performance of the cardiac anesthesiologists. The Director shall create and oversee the schedule for cardiac anesthesia ensuring adequate daily coverage of cardiac anesthesia.
• Ensures the provision of all cardiac anesthesia services to patients in the Cardiothoracic ORs, Electrophysiology Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Structural Heart procedural areas, Same Day Medicine, cardiac critical care, and any other location where cardiac anesthesia services are provided or needed.
• Collaborates with the Director of the Department of Anesthesiology and the physician and administrative leadership of the cardiovascular service line to ensure that quality, safety and strategic goals are met.
• Ensures the provision of evidence-based care for all patients requiring cardiac anesthesia including, but not limited to:
o Conventional post-open-heart patients;
o Thoracic surgical
o All patients undergoing transcatheter valve therapy, including:
TAVR;
MitraClip; and
Future therapies not yet adopted;
o All structural and EP patients admitted to CPPU, including but not limited to:
ASD and PFO closure;
Endocardial and epicardial left atrial appendage closure / ligation;
Endocardial and epicardial atrial fibrillation ablation; and
o Patients requiring advanced cardiac support including LVAD:
• Serves as a member of the Cardiovascular Services Executive Committee.
• Serves as a member of the Cardiovascular Services Quality and Patient Safety Committee; participates in all Cleveland Clinic/Valley quarterly quality meetings.
