Autonomous Driving Simulation Technical Quality Engineer - Arene Reactor
Woven by ToyotaAbout the role
Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM
Arene’s goal is to open vehicle programming to everyone by simplifying vehicle software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety and security. This will create a whole new market of vehicle application developers who, through software, integrate a vehicle into our daily lives in novel ways. Arene aims to significantly improve how vehicles are designed and developed, and we’re working closely with Toyota to realize this goal in its next-generation vehicles.
Arene Reactor is a function within Arene Engineering which aims to enable developers to test their applications as early as possible in the development cycle without requiring access to a real vehicle to reduce costs and deliver safer software. For this, we provide a highly customizable simulation core engine that simulates sensors and ground-truth data for both the tested vehicle and its surrounding virtual environment.
Automotive simulation for autonomous vehicles lies at the intersection of many subfields, such as robotics, safety engineering, computational physics, computer graphics, real-time computing, and simulation engine design just to name a few. We aspire to integrate facets of those various disciplines into a coherent body of knowledge that will help us tackle our challenges and achieve our mission.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for technical quality engineers who are passionate about advancing the safety and reliability of self-driving software through robust automated testing and requirement management. Our team develops ground-breaking simulation solutions to validate AD/ADAS systems, and the complexity of these platforms demands high-quality test automation infrastructures.
We seek engineers with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration—candidates who thrive on designing and implementing automated test systems, building testing frameworks, and maintaining infrastructure as code. You will contribute directly to our codebase, partnering with team members to enhance our simulation capabilities and ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of reliability and performance.
This role requires hands-on experience with software development, an eagerness to learn new technologies, and excellent technical communication skills to work effectively across teams. If you are driven by improving software quality at scale through technical innovation, and you enjoy the challenge of building tools and systems for complex simulation workflows, we would love to hear from you.
