Senior Scientist – R&D Nutrition

The Senior Scientist in Nutrition will provide scientific thought leadership for current brands and future innovations. 

Responsibilities

• Translate current dietary guidance and nutrition science into evidence-based product and claim opportunities across the North America Kraft Heinz product portfolio

• Strong collaboration with business teams including R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal and Global Nutrition  

• Support assessment of business implications of emerging science and nutrition policy internally and via external relationships with academia and industry trade groups

• Drive internal nutrition and wellbeing initiatives through assessment of the product portfolio and effective nutrition communication   

• Drive claim review and substantiation and provide subsequent recommendation to business teams

Relationships (External and Internal):

• Collaboration with internal cross functional teams, including R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal and Global Nutrition

• Establish partnerships with academia and industry trade groups

Qualifications

• Minimum Masters degree in Nutrition or Life Sciences (PhD preferred)

• Registered Dietitian a plus

• 3+ years experience in the food industry

• Familiarity with North American food regulations (US and Canada) 

• Experience with nutrition claims substantiation  

• Experience working with cross functional teams such as R&D, Marketing, and Legal

• Strong written and oral communication skills for technical and non technical audiences

• Excellent problem solving, influencing, organization and time management skills

• Travel for external meetings and conferences as indicated
