As a part of the SCL Office of the Vice President's unit, the SCL Facilities Management (FM) team supports the student campus experience, by ensuring safe, clean, and operational spaces for students to live, eat, recreate, connect, and engage with each other. With this mission in mind, the team is focused on helping our customers and end-users navigate critical decisions regarding the use and maintenance of their space. They do this through analyzing risks and associated costs, exploring additional services that add value, considering safety and security factors, and ensuring business continuity. Members of this group are passionate about helping customers, think critically about how small decisions can have large impacts, and have a knack for integrating people and physical places. This team is literally the “foundation” upon which the student experience here at Cornell is built.
Supporting the SCL Director of Facilities, the Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the administrative support services for SCL Facilities and other office building administrators to ensure smooth, efficient, and productive work environments and operational outputs. Specifically, through effective team leadership of a Security Systems Coordinator, Inventory Manager, Building Coordinator and Administrative Assistant, this position will manage office resources, administrative functions, office communications, and ensure effective support of other various operational tasks. The Operations manager is also key to ensure compliance and effective tracking of city, town and fire inspections and permit requirements, providing appropriate and timely reports and updates. Additionally, this role will support the SCL Facilities Directors budget planning efforts through tracking major purchase and expenses and regularly reviewing appropriate accounts for accurate information.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience preferably in higher education or facilities management or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience (both staff and students) including direct experience with operational management, project management, and/or organizational effectiveness
- Demonstrated advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other office productivity software; ability to utilize software to generate reports and perform data analysis
- Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color.
