Job Description Summary
The Summer Camp Teaching Assistant supports summer art camp programs for elementary students on the Ringling College's Sarasota Art Museum Campus. Greet and check-in students, direct them to their classroom; student check-out and departure. Assist with class set up/break down, supplies, and other duties as needed. The Teaching Assistant will also provide classroom support to instructors as needed for teaching lessons and facilitating interactive activities. Teaching Assistants enhance learning objectives by using their talents, skills and creativity. This position works directly with children and minors which requires a background investigation.The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists to greet and check-in students, directs them to their classrooms, and assists with student check-out and departure.
- Assists with set up and break down of classrooms.
- Coordinates facility needs for resources and supplies with instructors.
- Provides classroom support to instructors in the preparation and delivery of lessons and workshops.
- Assists to facilitate age-appropriate activities.
- Assists in taking attendance, setting up equipment and obtaining supplies.
- Attends meetings and events as assigned.
- Assists in inventory, preparation and distribution of materials.
- Assists with administrative tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Must be familiar with fine arts.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow through on assignments.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekday mornings and afternoons.
- Must be in good academic standing.
Education and Experience
Minimum:
- Must be currently enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design.
- Requires successful completion of a criminal background investigation.
- Required to work up to 20 hours per week, weekday morning and/or afternoons May through July.
