The Business Development Analyst will support Wacker Biotech's growth targets in North America with a focus on plasmid DNA, mRNA, recombinant proteins, and related manufacturing services. This role will actively participate in the Request-for-Proposal (RFP) process, enhance visibility of Wacker Biotech in the U.S. by supporting client facing events, analyze the competitive landscape and support customer acquisition.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the regional Business Development team in a highly technical environment by driving proposal generation, that meet customers’ needs and are aligned internally. Responsible for all proposal templates and making necessary updates.
  • Provide tactical sales and marketing support by analyzing and effectively drawing initial conclusions from data. Continuous monitoring of the competitive landscape, provide summaries/updates to the team and suggest new ideas that would impact the organization’s ability to emerge into new markets. Provide input to strategic discussions.
  • Responsible for extracting relevant data from our market data base to provide target lists and create contact strategy for our BD Team
  • Supporting in client facing activities like on site visits, audits, external events, tradeshows, etc. Interfacing with Corp. Comms. and marketing to provide market feedback and support crafting MarCom messages.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor in life sciences or related discipline (Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biology or Biochemistry or related field preferred) and/or Bachelor's in Business, Economics, Marketing or related field; Master degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience at (bio)pharmaceutical organizations, preferably in the biopharmaceutical CDMO sector
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, high affinity to data bases / business intelligence
  • Excellent verbal / written communication and technical presentation skills
  • Strong customer focus and solution-oriented approach
  • Ability to provide recommendations to management based on data analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, pressured environment
  • Has a clear hands-on and very proactive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly and works independently to complete tasks and accomplish goals
  • Ability to build strong relationships across a global matrix organization
  • Computer skills (expertise with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, database applications)

 

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego is $65,890.00 - 87,000.00 The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc . Wacker is a multi state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
