A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Director of Pharmacy Operations will lead the design, build, and execution of scalable pharmacy capabilities—establishing Tandem’s pharmacy HUB infrastructure, optimizing existing pharmacy benefit access, and spearheading initiatives to migrate DME patients to pharmacy. This strategic role will serve as the commercial architect of our pull-through and affordability strategies, aligning Market Access, Sales, Patient Services, and external partners to drive sustained channel growth.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Leads the development and implementation of a scalable Pharmacy HUB model, integrating patient onboarding, prescription fulfillment, benefit verification, and provider engagement workflows.
  • Defines and operationalizes KPIs, SLAs, and SOPs for pharmacy fulfillment partners.
  • Collaborates with Patient Services and IT to ensure HUB infrastructure supports both high-touch and digital-first patient journeys.
  • Maximizes pull through of existing pharmacy access by identifying friction points, engaging key stakeholders, and improving Rx-to-fill conversion rates.
  • Analyzes pharmacy network performance to identify high-potential partners, geographic gaps, and opportunities for access expansion.
  • Partners with Trade and Payer Strategy teams to inform network contracting and preferred partner programs.
  • Develops and leads a targeted migration strategy to transition eligible DME patients to the pharmacy benefit channel.
  • Coordinates with Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to ensure strategy execution aligns with guidelines and payer policies.
  • Designs and launches a multi-channel pull-through strategy to activate covered lives post-formulary wins.
  • Integrates field sales, inside sales, payer marketing, and provider education efforts around consistent messaging and targeting.
  • Implements tracking and feedback loops to optimize targeting, script lift, and adherence.
  • Leads the strategy and implementation of scalable affordability and patient savings solutions (e.g., eVouchers, copay cards, digital coupons, Free Trials).
  • Partners with vendors, PBMs, and pharmacies to build compliant, patient-friendly savings tools that support adherence and minimize abandonment.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

EXTRA AWESOME:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or economics preferred; Bachelor’s degrees in finance, mathematics, engineering or related fields will be considered with sufficient career experience.
  • A Master’s degree in the same fields as listed above preferred and/or an MBA or equivalent.
  • 10+  years of experience in sales, market access, patient services, pharmacy operations, within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • 5+ years in Market Access, Pharmacy Strategy, HUB Operations, or Commercial Excellence within the life sciences or MedTech industries.
  • 5+ years of experience negotiating or overseeing commercial agreements, partnership agreements, complex software and services agreements with vendors, and other agreements with strategic significance and/or high visibility.
  • Experience with technical solutions such as deploying software, managing integrations, and automating processes to achieve efficiency, strengthen collaboration, and foster a mutual sense of accountability across the contracting team.
  • Experience partnering with Finance to forecast SG&A, Gross to Net and OPEX.
  • Demonstrated success building or scaling a pharmacy channel or HUB model.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy benefit design, pay
