Quality Control Lab Assistant Team Leader

Job Summary
Oversees the performance of Laboratory testing by providing direct involvement and leadership with lab analysts. Responsible for counting and reporting all microbial counts.
Essential Functions
· Facilitate lab techs with their daily schedule by providing assistance and support where necessary.
· Assists to make sure the laboratory testing begins and ends on accordance to daily task list for each position. Assists in that actionable deficiencies daily routine are addressed quickly.
· Assists with Team Leaders to ensure that laboratory has sufficient resources and inventories on supplies.
· Prepares and analyze all samples assigned.
· Documents and reports results of tests and analyses using SAP.
· Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws.
· Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
- Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
· Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Qualifications
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and/or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Demonstrates experience with laboratory techniques for the measurement of chemical components, microbiological parameters, and sensory attributes.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Practical experience in QA techniques, principles, and adherence to government regulations.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
· Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
· Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
