Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a Recreation Specialist to join our Adult Inpatient Unit team. This dynamic role focuses on developing and delivering engaging, therapeutic recreational and psychoeducational activities for adult clients in a secure inpatient setting. As a key member of our multidisciplinary care team, you will play a vital role in promoting recovery, stability, and wellness through structured, meaningful activities. Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan, facilitate, and evaluate a variety of safe, therapeutic recreational and psychoeducational activities for clients in the Adult Inpatient Unit.
• Collaborate with treatment team members by participating in treatment planning meetings and case consultations.
• Lead structured educational and skill-building groups to support client recovery and engagement.
• Ensure the safety, supervision, and active participation of clients during all group and individual activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes and behavioral observations.
• Assist in the ongoing development of therapeutic programming to enhance client experience and outcomes.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral escalations and de-escalate situations using trauma-informed approaches.

Entry-Level Minimum Qualifications:

Education- Associates Degree in Human Services, Psychology or related field.

Experience- Minimum of three years of job-related experience.
