Program Services Coordinator

For nearly 100 years, Easterseals Northern California (ESNorCal) has provided services to children through adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities I/DD and their families. Our programs deliver remote and in-person services to children and adults and help them develop the skills they need to realize their potential in a constantly changing environment. The Program Services Coordinator is responsible for supporting staff and participants to allow for successful program operations.

Core Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions

• Ensure scheduled activities support the Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals of each participant.
• Ensure participants are safely, fully, and successfully supported by the direct support staff in accordance with funder, compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Support program reporting and documentation processes.
• Assist the Program Manager with program operations and supervise Direct Support Professionals.
• Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of Program Manager.
• Provide lead support in the absence of the Program Manager, during emergency preparedness drills, and disaster response.
• May participate on Easterseals Northern California committees and teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Experience & Training Equivalent to:

• Associate's degree recommended.
• 3+ years' experience working with and supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental and/or physical disabilities requirement.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Effective communication skills and an ability to interact respectfully and sensitively with clients, client’s family and staff.
• Leadership, team building, and collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm for the values of the organization including resilience, and inclusion.
• Ability to successfully lead and facilitate group activities and mentor staff to do the same.
• American Sign Language or bilingual ability a plus.
• Good judgement and decision-making skills.
• Propensity to transport participants in company vehicle (if over 21 years of age).
• Confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and ability to maintain all HIPAA requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant walking (65%) and supervision of participants (75%).
• Constant speaking and listening (75%) to participants and others.
• Frequent (75%) use of arms and fingers to grasp, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Frequent (75%) bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to interact with participants.
• Occasional (30%) using upper and lower torso, arms, and legs to assist in lifting or transferring participants of up to 50 lbs.).

• Rare occasions of sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and using arms and hands to operate computer (5%).
• Infrequent (5%) walking to, bending to enter, sitting, and using upper and lower limbs to drive car.
• Stand or sit for extended periods of time, stand for up to 6-8 hours a day.
• Physically implement behavior management strategies including responding to physically aggressive behavior.
• Visual and auditory ability to work with clients, staff and others in the workplace continuously.
• Effectively utilize computer, cell phone (iPhone).
• Excellent verbal and writing communication skills; frequent proofreading and checking documents for accuracy.

Conditions of Employment

• Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
• Ability to travel to multiple work sites; reliable transportation required.
• Must have a valid California Driver’s License with Insurance and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must pass health screenings, obtain vaccinations and clear TB testing based on company policies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain NPI number.
• Must attend any required training.
