JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Greets students and visitors of the assigned area and directs them to the appropriate resources. Provides assistance to students and necessary clerical support for the faculty offices. Assists triaging student needs.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Provides clerical support for the faculty, updating and generating of course materials, syllabi, etc.
- Maintains and monitors supplies for faculty, faculty mailboxes and assists with interoffice mail.
- Assists faculty in communicating with students as needed.
- Greets students and visitors and directs them to the appropriate resources.
- Assesses student needs, answers questions, phones, and set appointments as needed.
- Provides assistance to students with various online tools and services in the My Way portal.
- Works with appropriate staff in resolving pre-requisite and other advising issues.
- Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of College-supported software and computer systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to plan, use time management, organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a cooperative, professional demeanor, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills while working with a variety of personalities on a daily basis.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to use general office equipment including, but not limited to telephone, computer, copier, scanner, and fax machine.
- Ability to move 10-15 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Ability to demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
- Knowledge of College policies and procedures related to student enrollment.
- Knowledge and compliance of FERPA laws regarding confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma (or GED).
- Three (3) years’ work-related experience in a clerical support environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.
- Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
- Must pass background check.
