Senior Product Manager

Resource Innovations is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our growing market transformation team. Market transformation is a proven strategic process of intervening in markets for emerging technologies and business practices, to cause quantifiable and lasting energy efficiency, GHG reductions, and other benefits. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a crucial team member providing technical assessment and market expertise on a range of energy efficient and grid enabled technologies. The Product Manager must have a technical lens and deep understanding of the manufacturer product development cycle and supply chain. The Product Manager will help craft and evolve market transformation theories, product development strategies, and market intervention activities for a diverse set of technologies and services. All of this work supports the accelerated adoption of these technologies and services – our ultimate goal.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop strategic solutions that are customized to meet needs of individual products or market
• Develop product technology roadmaps.
• Guides market assessment and verification of energy savings research activities
• Plans and directs primary and secondary technical research
• Supports the team in logic model, market strategies, and interventions development
• Builds an understanding of the long-term code or standards strategies that will work to lock in energy savings over time
• Foster collaboration with other California and national entities like the National Labs and Department of Energy on promising emerging technologies
• Contributes to proposal and scope development activities in support of development of market transformation initiatives targeting accelerated adoption of energy efficient technologies or practices

• Provides advanced technical direction to other staff and subcontractors

• Maintains the highest level of quality control for deliverables (for your work and others); demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining and advancing projects
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a field of study such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, economics or related; a Master's degree in a technical field of study is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience within manufacturing, building efficiency industries or utility program industries.

• Experience working with emerging technology, innovation, strategic marketing/planning and/or product development.
• A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and principles; including HVAC, lighting, motors, building envelope, thermodynamics, fluids, and heat transfer
• Proven experience being partner facing
• Thorough and accurate with attention to detail

• Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards (e.g. Title 24, Title 20, IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, etc.)

• Strong writing, interpersonal, training and analytical skills
• Proven time management ability with the ability to manage multiple projects at once while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets.

Experience in the following areas is a plus:

• Experience with grid technologies and demand response programs
• Building and energy modeling/simulation tools (eg eQUEST, EnergyPro Trace)
