Position Overview:
As our Environmental Safety & Health Professional you will be performing technical evaluations associated with new facility equipment and modifications, conducting routing compliance audits, inspections, and assessments of existing plant conditions. These technical evaluations will include risk assessments and Process Hazard Analysis methodologies such as Event Tree Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, or What-If assessments.

The position will be in the Lynchburg, VA Advanced Technologies Office.
Your Day to Day as an Environmental Safety & Health Professional:
- Assist with the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of EHS programs.
- Issue stop work orders for unsafe conditions and actions without fear of reprisal.
- Evaluate facility modifications to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Conduct studies and surveys to assess overall plant safety and facility needs, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and adherence to established safety work practices.
- Perform written reports, technical documents, and compliance reviews, and recommend or initiate corrective actions and improvements to mitigate and resolve regulatory deficiencies.
- Collaborate across facility departments to ensure equipment and processes are maintained and hazardous conditions are corrected.
- Facilitate compliance programs to ensure all Federal and State Safety and Health Regulations are maintained.
- Participate in facility drills and emergency events.
- Prepare and issue written and verbal reports to management summarizing findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Perform Industrial Hygiene (IH) Sampling and other IH actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of related work experience in an industrial setting is required.
