Senior Software Engineer - XR Open Standard, PICO

About the Team
The Developer Technology team at Pico is dedicated to building the foundational technologies that enable immersive XR experiences. Our team is responsible for developing and optimizing XR technologies across the software stack, including runtime software, developer SDKs, and game engines. By empowering our developers, we help create the most advanced XR applications. We are currently seeking developers with prowess to Open Standards to join our rapidly expanding team. The position offers significant opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance PICO XR System Software;
- Design and implement next-generation XR standards (e.g., OpenXR and other open standards);
- Collaborate closely with the PICO OS, Engine, Product and SDK teams to drive end-to-end functionality, ensuring a strong focus on the end user experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Open Standards (e.g., OpenXR, OpenGL, Vulkan, MaterialX, OpenUSD, etc.);
- Comprehensive understanding of XR technologies;
- Advanced proficiency in C / C++ programming;
- Demonstrated experience in 3D graphics and low-level feature implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and substantial experience in at least three of the following areas:
- Development of AR/VR applications;
- Game engine development (Graphics component and/or Low latency input routing);
- SDK development preferably with external consumers;
- Native Android development with a good understanding of Android Services, and IPC mechanisms.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $355000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
