Your Opportunity
One Permanent Full Time Position.
Reporting to the Chief U.S. Financial Officer, the Senior Specialist, U.S. Renewables is accountable for the financial and commercial reporting, planning, and analysis for the existing U.S. renewable fleet and future developments and will partner with internal stakeholders to provide insights into financial and operations trends that directly influence business decisions. The role is responsible to oversee the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls. This role will also lead the development of annual budgets, interim forecasts and the ten-year long-term plan and variance reporting against those plans. Additionally, the role will support the commercial team in preparing asset management plans, evaluating commercial opportunities, and identifying other value-add opportunities.
You will contribute to our team by:
Executing highly complex and diverse work associated with the U.S. renewable fleet by overseeing all financial facets associated with tax equity agreements.
Preparing or reviewing all associated financial reporting including preparation of facility standalone financial statements.
Maintaining expertise in IFRS and U.S. GAAP accounting, researching new accounting regulations and determining impact on current practices.
Managing all financial processes to ensure internal and contractual requirements are met.
Executing cash and debt management responsibilities associated with invoice payments, royalty payments, partner distributions, debt repayments, collateral agent relationships, and internal demand note settlements.
Preparing quarterly hypothetical liquidated book value models.
Maintaining tracking models for tax equity investors.
Coordinating the annual financial audit process.
Optimizing the process, timelines and flow of information to ensure efficiency and accuracy in reported results.
Reviewing and approving work processes of the accounting specialist role such as journal entries, account reconcilements, invoices, landowner royalty payments, tax equity distributions and intercompany settlements.
Minimizing risk of error in financial results by implementing, maintaining and reviewing processes, ensuring established internal controls are operating effectively and appropriate checks and balances are in place.
Developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships and effective communication with Operations and Commercial teams.
Providing oversight and development of Accounting Specialist role
Maintaining strong collaborative external facing relationships with Tax Equity partners, external audit teams and landowners.
Understanding plant operating characteristics, providing strategic advice and insightful commentary as a financial expert on US Renewable facilities, directly influencing high-level business decisions.
Leading the development of the long-term plan, annual budget, and quarterly forecast for the assigned facilities, in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Analyzing and reporting on monthly, quarterly, and annual variances, with a focus on the business and key drivers/trends.
Providing comprehensive financial insights and updates that drive overall business success and optimization of value for the assigned assets, including value-add targets assigned to Commercial Management for each asset.
