$18.57 - $25.77Job Description - This position is responsible for all housekeeping, general maintenance and repairs required within an assigned area to insure clean, safe, healthful conditions in all spaces of the assigned area at all times. This position is also required to assist in safety, security and operation of the college. Activities may include both light and heavy maintenance, routine equipment and mechanical repairs, routine cleaning and housekeeping, grounds keeping, special maintenance and repair activities, special events and other related work as required to maintain a pleasant, healthful, aesthetic and secure environment for all staff and clientele.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of various types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents, and equipment.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents, and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
Knowledge of the methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely, and to make minor repairs.
Knowledge of groundskeeping.
Must maintain a valid current driver's license.
Ability to perform assigned work with limited direction.
Ability to keep simple records.
Ability to work effectively/cooperatively with coworkers, campus employees, and the public.
Preferred Qualification Other Requirements
Two years of related experience.
Ability to perform routine maintenance/repair to classrooms, offices, and other furniture and equipment.
Ability to work independently under limited supervision or in a team environment.
Basic computer skills.
Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
Physical Requirements
Must be ablet to work in adverse/extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to work above ground level, such as on ladders and scaffolding.
Must have good physical health and endurance to be able to repeatedly bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, crouch, push and pull, twist, and squat.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry heavy objects such as furniture, boxes of books, etc.
Must be able t work on feet for eight hours per day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
Salary Range - $20.21 - $25.05 hourly
