Who are we looking for?   

Our US West Mining team has an excellent opportunity for a Project Controls Professional. This is a unique opportunity for a mid-level individual to join a large, well-established organization with a culture that promotes teamwork, integrity, and respect.

The US West Energy and Resources - Mining group supports our clients in the planning and delivery of large earthwork and/or infrastructure projects for mining clients in the Americas. Our core business is to provide Program Management, Project Management, Engineering/Scientific Studies, Engineering Design, Construction, Construction Management, and/or Contract Controls services to mining clients.

You will work closely with our highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organization and our clients to efficiently deliver projects and provide high value consultancy services. We partner internally with the water, transportation, environmental, energy, properties and buildings markets, digital and advisory services to provide support to the wider GHD network to deliver landmark infrastructure and facilities programs to our mining clients. This position can be in any of our offices in California, Arizona, or Washington state. .

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

• Excellent scheduling skills using Oracle’s Primavera P6 and some experience with Microsoft Project.
• Develop and maintain funding, cash flow, budget, and resource requirements for programs/projects.
• Proactively report on project overruns and slippages
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Development of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly schedule and cash flow reports for clients and/or project stakeholders
• Strong understanding of construction, critical path method, and earned value management.
• Monitor and track changes to project or program scope, schedule, and budget.
• Support multiple projects simultaneously, with different clients both internally and externally focused assistance on project delivery
• Excellent skills utilizing Excel, and good understanding of BST10, PowerBi, and other relevant applications to manage projects
• Generate reports and support deliverables coordination
• Assist project teams in the preparation of basis of schedules and/or basis of estimate documents
• Efficiently implement processes
• Assist in the building project documents and schedules from information provided by project managers
• Monitor financial aspects and schedule of projects

What you will bring to the team:

• A track record of implementing procedures, processes, and systems on large and complex mining earthwork and/or mining infrastructure projects
• 5+ years of planning/scheduling/estimating experience with Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management.
• Previous experience on large engineering (>$5M) or construction (>$50M) projects for clients in the energy or mining sector is preferred.  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Primavera  P6 required
• Certification/Accreditation as a Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) is desired, but not required
