EHE | Crane Center for Early Childhood-JMThis temporary, intermittent, Research Technician 2 will be hired to provide support within the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy on a federally funded research project in early childhood development. The Research Technician will spend the majority of their time engaged in data collection. Primary responsibilities include recruitment and consent activities and administration of child assessments. The Research Technician may also support the project coordinator in managing day-to-day project logistics and project communications with participants, staff, and recruitment site personnel. The incumbent may assist in the management and retention of research data and conduct data management tasks. The incumbent schedules, manages, and conducts data collection efforts. The work involves regular travel to recruitment sites and participants’ homes for data collection. Other duties as assigned. Possibility of hybrid/remote work within the state of Ohio.
Required Experience: High School diploma or GED. 1 year of relevant experience required. Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of developmental assessments. Ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of desktop computing. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for field work. Must be able to fulfill the state requirements to work with children (successful completion of an FBI/BCI background check).
Desired Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred. Knowledgeable of research practices, including experience with human subjects’ projects. Experience in field of early childhood research. Experience working with families and children from diverse backgrounds. Documented education/training in literacy and reading or experience with lesson planning and implementation for young children.

Schedules, manages, and conducts data collection efforts and oversees/conducts any necessary coding on an ongoing basis, and assists in the management and retention of research data, including conducting data management tasks.

Coordinates day-to-day project logistics and manages project communications with participants, staff, recruitment site personnel, and completes administrative tasks, such as: scanning and organizing documentation, preparing child incentives, and other duties as assigned.

Prepare home learning kits, facilitate distribution to parents, and track distribution of materials. Respond to questions from parents regarding program implementation
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $15.86/hr - $20.74/hr
