The Role
Working in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Therapy Leadership Team, this position works to create, manage and implement, effective processes and strategies that benefit all patients and their caregivers experiences, and improve quality and cost of care.
The Director has responsibility for working with appropriate leaders, physicians and patient groups to ensure their area of responsibility is aligned with PHSA goals. Oversees daily operations including budget, staffing, productivity management, capital budget, quality, safety, accreditation, and contract services of assigned area. Responsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring manager, supervisors, leads, and other caregivers assigned to clinical team. Provides patient care in area of licensure.
Essential Functions:
- Directs and administers the Rehabilitation Therapy programs at ministry level, ensuring high quality, cost effective patient care.
- Accountable for budgetary preparation for capital and human resources required to accomplish program and objectives.
- Determines Community needs/resources and develops plan to meet those needs.
- Establishes service improvement plan where needed
- Explore options for expanding services, providing different services, and improving existing services.
- Develops and implements department QI plans, addressing all aspects of clinical, operations, and business objectives.
- Collaborates with Ministry and Therapy teams and leaders to develop, modify and implement patient care standards, policies and protocols.
- Facilitates the development and implementation of ministry and department strategic plans, incorporating system and region strategic plans in the planning process where applicable.
- Uses leadership principles to anticipate and influence change. Encourages innovative efforts in others. Seeks creative methods to resolve conflicts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or a related field.
- Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of clinical experience demonstrating progressive leadership.
- 5 years of clinical experience in the area of clinical specialty.
- 4 years of program development and program evaluation (preferred).
The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
