Catalent Pharma in San Diego, CA is hiring a Project Manager who is responsible for activities associated with drug product development and cGMP Manufacturing activities, in addition to developing and managing business relationships for major pharmaceutical clients. The primary function of the Project Manager is to initiate, plan, monitor the execution, and ensure the timely completion of client projects so that patient needs are met, and internal/external customers are satisfied. This is a full-time on-site salaried position: Monday – Friday, days (flexible work hours).

The Role:

  • Manage projects, possibly including key accounts, that may reside within multiple business lines or sites as assigned
  • Act as single/primary point of contact for the client and facilitate responses to client questions and observations
  • Independently establish project timelines, monitor internal/external project actions, and ensure milestones are met. Provide notification of milestone completions and forecast accurate project phase completion dates for billing to finance
  • Organize and lead meetings with client and internal teams to facilitate project completion, set meeting agendas and provide meeting minutes. During the lifecycle of projects, push to obtain resupply forecasts and new business opportunities from clients
  • Assist the sales team with scope definition for resupply and new business opportunities with existing clients. Review signed proposals of assigned projects and ensure scope is accurate. As needed, initiate proposal requests for project scope changes (QAR) throughout the life of the project. Assist in review of proposals and scope changes prior to distribution to the client
  • Plan, Organize, Host, and Lead client development or manufacturing observation visits and project kick-off meetings. Assist and organize business review meetings and prospective client visits as needed
  • Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams, instilling trust and confidence. Provide leadership to employees including training
  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in scientific discipline). PMP or CAPM certification or related Project Management professional training is a plus
  • Must have at least three years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably with exposure to project management, product development, cGMP manufacturing, or business development
  • Must have at least one year of client facing/project management experience. Experience with a CMO or CRO environment highly desired
  • Must have advanced technological proficiency with use of a computer, specifically with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SmartSheet or Microsoft Project
  • Ability to understand the customer requirements and manufacturing scenarios, processes, and equipment to develop project plan scope, and deliverables and translate to the team accordingly for execution
