The Role 

The Digital Healthcare Systems Team at Analog Devices is currently seeking a proactive, hands-on Principal Mobile Application Architect o develop solutions for interfacing with medical devices and the cloud. An ideal candidate will enjoy working with a multi-disciplinary team to build software on different platforms to create innovative medical products. The candidate will also be responsible for developing robust testing and validation strategies. 

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Architect, design, and implement robust native mobile applications for iOS and Android that will interface with the cloud and medical devices. 

  • Architect, design, and implement robust mobile applications using cross-platform framework Flutter. 

  • Work with cross-functional teams and customers to gather and define technical requirements. 

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, backend engineers, testing engineers, and 3rd party contractors located in multiple countries. 

  • Identify and resolve complex issues during the development process. Debug and optimize code for performance and memory efficiency. 

  • Implement intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces. Knowledge of mobile design principles, responsiveness, and accessibility standards. 

  • Lead and participate in sprint planning, task breakdowns, and code reviews. 

  • Hire, develop and lead a small group of developers (1-3). Provide technical guidance, promote best practices, and help drive the team’s growth. 

  • Document thoroughly all work 

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Five+ years of hand-on experience architecting, designing, and implementing mobile applications for iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Java/Kotlin) 

  • Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks like Flutter and React Native 

  • Hands-on experience designing scalable and robust mobile architectures. Working understanding of patterns such as MVC, MVVM, or MVP. Understanding the app lifecycle, memory management and performance optimization. 

  • Proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools required for mobile app development, such as Swift, Objective-C, Java, Kotlin. 

  • Hands on experience integrating RESTful APIs, MQTT/MQTTS, web services, and third-party libraries into mobile applications. Understanding of authentication methods, data formats (JSON, XML), and handling network requests efficiently. 

  • Working experience in testing mobile applications, including unit testing, integration testing, and UI testing. Familiarity with debugging tools and crash reporting. 

  • Working experience in agile environment 

  • Understanding of app store submission processes and release management. 

  • Experience leading small teams on technical projects. 

  • Willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and skills 

 

Additional Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for hybrid app development  

  • Familiarity in using testing frameworks like XCTest, Espresso, Appium, or Detox. 

  • Familiarity with Bluetooth, and WiFi 

  • Background in developing medical products, US/EU standardization, and compliances 

  • While we would prefer someone in an office location This role has the possibility of working remotely
