The Security Products group is responsible for developing a range of security related products at Fastly. We are made up of multifaceted teams that work together to build industry leading security products that our customers rely on to secure their infrastructure. Some parts are especially performance-critical, so we are looking for a full-time optimization and code quality enthusiast.

Engineers with Golang experience, C/C++ or Java background are welcome since the problem space is similar.  However, you’ll find the tools in Golang to be simpler and easier to use.

What You'll Do:

• Write clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements
• Coordinate and communicate seamlessly with the team members and across other technical and product teams
• Contribute to code reviews, improving the codebase and other team processes
• Race detection and concurrency optimization
• Memory allocation and analysis
• Hotspot analysis and remediation
• Architectural design and system implementation for scale and reliability
• Improving and adding static tests and automating these tests so problems are surfaced faster

What We're Looking For: 

• You have a minimum of 4 years of experience development experience in Golang (preferred) or C/C++ or Java and assessing technological risk within a high-traffic production environment 
• You must have cloud experience (ex: AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Strong Linux and Bash skills
• Written or previously optimized high-load servers (language agnostic)

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these: 

• Knowledge of AWS and Docker Containers 
• Cloud infrastructure - VPC, ALB, DNS

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $155,370 to $194,210.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
