Position Summary:
The Senior Manager - Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing a stable, well performing backup environment for the enterprise. The role will provide guidance, analysis and recommendations to the department on all data protection subsystems and components while acting as a lead to design and implement new technologies. Primary focus will be to ensure the security and resilience of our digital assets and systems when facing potential disasters, cyberattacks, and unforeseen disruptions.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience supporting various data protection platforms
- 3+ years of experience in Linux/Windows installing, maintaining and configuring data protection software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with PowerShell and/or restAPI scripting
- Experience in developing and implementing industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to cyber resiliency and disaster recovery
- Experience with OpenStack Swift concepts and fundamentals
- Proficiency with popular orchestration and configuration management systems like Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform
- Experience with services from public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP in hybrid storage environments—some data on-premises, some data in public cloud (S3, GCS, Glacier, etc.)
Additional Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, improve, and maintain the information security throughout the backup infrastructure
- Be a liaison with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems and is kept up to date to include inventory and patch levels of all systems to include hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, number of cores, number of processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts on a monthly interval
- Integrate systems with Windows and Linux as it applies to core service dependencies
- Engage customers (private cloud teams, admins, SRE) to understand their challenges and collaborate to solve them in creative ways
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data protection configurations, procedures, and best practices
- Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity assessments and planning to anticipate and meet the growing backup needs of the organization
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
