Grain Accounting Specialist - Evergreen FS - McLean, IL

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for physical grain handling, facility operations, and the purchase and settlements of cash grain contracts. Oversees proper record keeping and day-to-day elevator operations at assigned location. Administrates and coordinates specialty programs.
• Responsible for maintaining records on all grain activity of patrons, summarizing daily, monthly, and yearly activity for financial statements.
• Compiles and verifies a balanced position for the location and effect on master daily grain position record.
• Accounts for numerical sequence of all pre-numbered documents.
• Performs calculations affecting patrons.
• Buys grain and makes grain settlements based on grain market action.
• Keeps WHR, Price Later & Basis Contract records up-to-date and reconciles monthly to the daily position records.
• Maintains the office and personal work area to support the company image.
• Supports marketing efforts of the company.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree, high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof, and 2-4 years of work experience to demonstrate knowledge of grain accounting.
• Normally requires agricultural background.
• Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work hours beyond those considered normal.
• Ability to travel independently and overnight.
