Payments has become a very active/hot area in the last couple of years, creating a strong demand for innovation. This will be a very exciting area in the next 5 to 10 years. The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform (DAP) group is a key component of Visa's Technology organization that provides the enabling technology and processes to handle Visa's data assets and deliver valuable information, products, and services to customers. DAP delivers secure, high-quality and easy-to-use Visa core data assets as a service, together with reliable and scalable data platform as a service, to enable Visa and our partners to rapidly and efficiently innovate data-driven business products and services to lead the digital payment industry. Areas of focus include Business Intelligence and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data as a Service, and Platform as a Service etc. The portfolio comprises of over 60 data products & platforms for various external clients and internal lines of business. We provide services on behalf of traditional bank customers to millions of cardholders and merchants globally. The team is looking for a key technical leader who has proven experiences of Data, ML/AI fundamentals and AI applications. In this position, you will contribute to both strategic and tactic planning and guide team for execution to continuously advance AI as a Services vision and mission. You should be comfortable leading teams, working with development managers and teams to identify and resolve technical challenges, as well as mentoring and developing others to reach their potential.

Essential Functions:

• Provide leadership and direction to the team with the latest data science and applied artificial intelligence techniques. Lead and grow a team of engineers to design and build ML infrastructure and AI products/services.
• Collaborate with project teams, data science teams and other development teams to drive the technical roadmap and guide development and implementation of new data driven business solutions.
• Drive technical standard and elevated practices in ML and data engineering, and continuously improve engineering scalability.
• Coordinate the implementation among development teams to ensure system performance, security, scalability and availability.
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members and evolving team talent pipeline.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
