Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program  

National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands. 

 

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project. 

Information Technology and Digital Graduate Rotations

Graduates in our IT & Digital team will take part in an 18-month exploration. Your first 6-months will be in the role outlined below and you will return to this role following two broadening 6-month placements designed to provide you a breadth of experience within your functional area and accelerate your progression at National Grid. These placements will provide you with the opportunity to solve complex problems and focus on growth that will transform the energy sector as we know it. 

About the Position

As an Associate Technical Documentation Analyst, you will be a part of a growing team. In this role, you will focus on ensuring that the team maintains clear, accurate, and accessible documentation, which supports various business functions and enhances overall operational efficiency.

 

This is a hybrid role with as needed time in the office based on meetings, collaborations, and trainings.

What You'll Do

You will have the opportunity to flex your organizational and collaboration skills as you bring teams and processes together!

 

You will:

  • Organize and manage the storage of documents in a centralized system.
  • Ensure that all documents are properly categorized, tagged, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain version control and track changes in documents over time.
  • Assist in the creation of templates and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for document management.
  • Perform regular audits of documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Coordinate the documentation process across multiple teams or projects.
  • Facilitate communication between writers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution     

  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025 

  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025  

  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy 

  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)
